The Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda began interministerial negotiations last March as part of the Luanda process.

Speaking on Tuesday, while receiving a visit from his Belgian counterpart Hadja Labib, Congolese Foreign Minister Christophe Lutundula said that Rwanda is not providing sufficient guarantees for the peaceful resolution of the crisis.

To support his remarks, the head of Congolese diplomacy revealed that the confidential report drawn up at the end of the negotiations which took place in Luanda was unpacked on social networks by Kigali.

In the DRC, we still have it  said, we don’t care about the FDLR, it’s not us and above all  not the President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi. That  date 30 years old, and we  we say  that it is necessary put  end at  this alibi. On the side from Rwanda,  we don’t give enough guarantees proving that we are  ready to  go  towards the solution to  this alibi»  he declared.

And to add:

“As soon as we left Luanda, the confidential document intended for the Heads of State was made public by Rwanda”

Please note that the Belgian minister is staying in the DRC to strengthen political dialogue between Rwanda and the DRC.

These two countries have been at odds for almost 3 years, following the support of the Rwandan army for armed groups causing insecurity in North Kivu (eastern DRC).
