Reacting to revelations by a Congolese army detainee that former President Joseph Kabila was complicit with rebel leader Corneille Nangaa, Professor Noël Tshiani issued a challenge to Raymond Tshibanda, former Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Joseph Kabila.

“The agreements between the DRC and the M23 terrorists were signed by Raymond Tshibanda in the name of the Republic. These agreements are a pure and simple betrayal of the country of Patrice Lumumba. Even a high school student couldn’t sign such agreements,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

He added: “I ask Raymond Tshibanda to publish the agreements he has signed, so that we can judge his analytical lucidity and strategic depth!

Raymond Tshibanda, current coordinator of the crisis cell of the Front Commun pour le Congo (FCC), signed a press release last weekend to contradict allegations that Joseph Kabila is complicit with the rebel Corneille Nangaa.

Corneille Nangaa, Honorary Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), has been the leader of the Alliance Fleuve Congo (AFC) political-military movement, to which the M23 belongs, since 2023.
