On Monday April 1, 2024, President Félix Tshisekedi unveiled the identity of the rare bird he has chosen to lead the first government of his second term.

Judith Suminwa Tuluka, who was previously Minister of Planning in the outgoing government, has been appointed Prime Minister, becoming the first woman in the history of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to hold this important post.
The announcement was made by the Head of State’s spokeswoman, Madame Tina Salama, on Radio Télévision Nationale Congolaise.

Welcomed as an April fool’s joke by many Internet users, the veracity of this news was quickly confirmed by public opinion.
Some believe that, with this appointment, President Tshisekedi has forever inscribed his policy of positive masculinity in the country’s history.

You will recall that on January 24, 2024, our media cited Madame Judith Suminwa Tuluka as one of the women President Félix Tshisekedi might choose as Prime Minister.
Subsequent events confirm our analysis.
