Facing François Soudan, publishing director of Jeune Afrique, Rwandan President Paul Kagame made a media appearance this Monday, March 25, 2024. This interview essentially revolved around security and diplomatic issues. He also raised the issue of elections in Rwanda, scheduled for July this year.
When it comes to security and diplomacy, President Kagame took aim at his Congolese counterpart, Félix Tshisekedi. The current strongman in Kigali seems to be having difficulty coping with his regime’s recent diplomatic defeats against the DRC.
According to Paul Kagame, Félix Tshisekedi’s diplomatic success with the region’s leaders is the result of manipulation.
“Félix Tshisekedi succeeded in manipulating leaders and countries. He is wrong. We know he is wrong,” he declared.

Remember that the Kigali regime’s maneuvers to block support from the UN and the African Union for the deployment of the SADC force in the east of the DRC have produced nothing.
Very recently, the AU Peace and Security Council recommended to the African Union Commission to accelerate the deployment of logistical support for SADC troops in the DRC but also to contact the UN to request financial support for this peace enforcement mission.
